Vancouver Limousine Service

Limo as a present!

Today is Mother's Day! The moment all moms have been waiting for - breakfast in bed, homemade cards, lots of hugs and kisses, and a small present wrapped in pink paper.

Unfortunately, I had to work today at my limousine job. There were lots of transfers today because of the special day and people were booking limos as a surprise gift for their mom.

So, to make up for not being here today, I woke up very early (something that I never do) and cooked a nice breakfast for my mom while she was still sleeping. I made pancakes that were cut into 8 pieces and had drizzled of maple syrup all over them. Then added slices of bananas and strawberries all around the plate. And in the middle, was a ball of whip cream. It was gorgeous, if I must say so myself. For drinks, I made hot chocolate. Not those cheap powder ones (even though they are very good), but  real chocolate that I had melted and and stirred with warm milk. It tasted rich and wonderful. When I heard movements upstairs, I brought up her food and annonced "HaPpY MoThEr'S dAy"

After breakfast, we shared some of our favourite stories. All of mine were from books or movies that I had watched. However, all of my mom's were based on reality. The old memories that she treasured and would never forget. We had a good time talking, laughing and crying.

Now it was time for me to go and change for work. Mom was sad to see that I would not be here for the rest of the day and she would have to celebrate her day alone. But I had to go. I couldn't do a no show on my boss and dissappoint all the clients that had wanted everything to go according to plans (you know the type of people I am talking about). I told my mom that I was very sorry and that next year I would book the whole day off mother's day to spend it with her. I gave her a hug and a kiss and then left the house.

It was about noon when I went to pick up the limousine to do my first job. The clients were nice and cheerful. It was a whole family who wanted a limousine for an hour tour with a drop off at a restaurant to celerate their mother's day. When I finished that job, I went back to the base to clean up the limo, pour some ice in, replace the dirty glasses and set out to do my next job.

I drove back to my house and knocked on the door. My mom came down and when she saw my face she was so shocked. I told her to change, get ready and let's go for a ride.

We drove around the highway, downtown, countryside and basically everywhere. Talking, singing and laughing in the limo for 4 hours. After, we went to a fancy restaurant that I had made reservation for a month in advance. We ate like pigs (not messy, but we ate a lot). First were the free breads, then the apitizers, the the main plate. We also ordered another dish just to try out the food because the name sounded interesting. Then we had soup and lastly was the dessert. I only had water to drink because I had to be the responsible driver. But my mom went full blast, with the wine and vodka and everything. Even though she is a small fragile looking lady, her stomach is strong like iron. The dinner bill was even more than my monthly bill. But for my mom, it was worth it.

When we finally got out of the restaurant and back into the limo (took a lot of pushing and shoving, she would not fit through the door) we headed back home. In the car, I pulled out a average sized box that was wrapped in shiny metallic pink paper and handed it to my mom. She opened it with care (trust me, it took her 15 min to remove the type). When she saw the gift, she had water in her eyes. I never felt happier.

I dropped my mom off, told her to brush her teeth and get ready for bed and I'll be home after I returned the limo.

I dropped off the limo and the keys back at my boss and thanked him for letting me having the day off and borrowing his vehicle for the whole day.

Today was an awesome day! Can't wait for next year!
